I think the key to this example is the size of the pot.Since the pot was not raised pre-flop you will make more money(expectation greater) if you just call.If the pot were raised pre-flop and the bet came from your right then you probably should raise.When the pot gets big,improving your chance to win is more important than getting extra action.
