Jewelry and expensive dinners should be bought for women because you love them/care about them, not used as bribes to keep them off your back or to get some action.
I see your argument Los, but we're talking about problems with a girlfriend, not a wife. You shoulden't have to make major compromises for a girlfriend that you (likely) don't live with.
