Default Affirmative Action - Thomas Sowell

If anybody cares to read about the topic, you should defenetely check out:

Sowell, Affirmative Action Around the World, ch. 6 ,
“Affirmative Action in the United States”

Sowell is probably the leader when it comes to the conservative approach to this topic. Randall Kennedy on the left.

I am a liberal on most issues and have not really been able to decide much on the issue though being a poor white kid, it's always been troubling to me that I would have little or no advantage in college admissions while my black and hispanic friends would have huge advantages. If we are trying to truly be fair in admissions, I think economic backround should be the emphasis.

But, do we really need admissions to be fair, or is having a diverse student body more important? Convince me.
