Raising in the blinds with 109o?????????????
Hello, I am a 2+2 reader that finally found his way to this forum. I play .50/1.00 and 1/2 (6 handed tables mostly) on poker stars. I have been noticing people raising with 109o in the blinds when there are 4+ people in the hand.
My question is, why are people doing this? Do they do this to build a big pot so that they have enough pot odds to chase with any kind of a straight draw? Maybe to fool people into believing they must have AA? It's frustrated the crap out of me because I just lost a big pot where i had a set of 7's and a guy had 10 9 and was betting it straight foward like he had over pocket pair. Board was 8 5 6 (rainbow flop)7 on turn. 2 on river. Rainbow board. Guy leads into me on flop, I raise with 77. he leads into me again on turn so i cap off the betting. He checks the river, I bet, he calls (i have to have the best hand huh?). Nope, he turns over 109o. This was on poker stars 1/2. Is there any known book out there that tells you to raise with 910o in the blinds? |
