So i'm in a satellite for the $350K on Pokerstars. I'm in late, about 12 people away from the bubble. I have been getting CRAP cards. Literally, a Q9 off was the best hand I got in 30 hands. I was sitting about 37th of 51 at the time. Top 34 get spots. My stack was about 6x the BB.
I am sitting on this, and its folded to the SB (me) and I raise about 4x BB to the BB, who has a similar sized stack. He calls. The flop comes Kxx. I go all-in, and he has K7. Four hours up in smoke, I get nothing. Is this an idiot play? My thoughts were, first, what are the chances he calls for most of his stack unless he has a premium hand? Second, what are the chances he catches the K for the other half of his stack? Am I just an idiot? Was this just stupid, or was it a good play that just met some bad luck? Really like to hear some comments on this type of play late. |
