Re: my freinds think there is are cheaters at the table- there are not.
Lusk,
My experience has been the opposite of what you say. I play two regular games a week(2 different groups of players). Both games are usually $25 buy-in tournaments. I'm usually in the money in both games. I consistantly make money at both games, but its not uncommon to be put out by somebody chasing down a long shot. At one of the games we played cash style a few times. $25 buy-in $.25-$.50 blinds. When this happens, I always cash out higher than the others. I might take a few bad beats, but there's time to recover from them. The cash game always seems to be in favor of the skilled player, while tournament gives a "lucky player" a chance. I prefer playing cash style because of the advantage and because nobody has to sit out and wait for the next game to begin. Also its more flexible for people who arrive late or have to leave early. With all the favorable arguments for cash game, I still have a hard time convincing either group to play that way. I think they have a sense that its a tougher game. Their excuse is "What if somebody wins a really big pot first hand and wants to cash out and leave?" Thats never happened, although it would be within somebody's rights to do it.
peace.
