Default Foxwoods \'trip report\' for lack of a better term

I went to Foxwoods last night and man was that place out of contol. The lists for the $2/4 $4/8 $2/4OE were absolutely ridiculous. Actually they didn't have a $2/4OE open, just 75 names on an 'interest' list. And the $5/10 is played with a kill @ $100, so from what I have seen, 95% of the hands are played $10/20 whick is just too big for my bankroll. I wish they would spread a $5/10 w/o a kill or $3/6 with a kill. I got into a 2/4 while waiting for a 4/8. In 2 hours, there were exactly 2 preflop raises by anyone other than myself. There were 9 players on 25% of the flops and never less than 5. (We were playing 9 handed at a stud table). it took me about a half hour to adjust my play to the Loose-Passive play, but once I did it was very profitable. I saw firsthand why suited connectors (and non-suited connectors) go up in value so much. 8,9 9T, &TJ won me some real good pots and they are usually garbage.
When I got called to the 4/8, I thought I was going to have to tighten up but this game was just as good. I love the money being thrown around in card rooms these days. There was one player at the table playing very tight, a girl to my right. She raised a hand preflop from the UTG. 4 players called. The flop came K-9 -rag (4 maybe?)with two hearts. She led got 1 call was raised and 2 players folded. She re-raised. Raiser called. Turn was Kh. She bet and was raised. She re-raised, I was pretty sure she just made quads. They went, I kid you not, 10 bets on the turn. The river was a complete bland and they went 3 more bets. Her opponent proudly turned over his A-high flush. AND HE THOUGHT IS WAS GOING TO BE GOOD. I figured he at least had pocket 9s. She turned over her pocket Kings and the table went crazy. She raked in the largest single pot I have ever seen in a $4/8 game. Why can't I make Quads against clueless opponents.

The 1/2blind $100 max NL game is a joke though. The $100 max, while a good idea for the casino, just doesn't work out well for the player. I sat with the $100 and 4 players at the table had at least $500-700 in front of them. Every pot was raised to $12, $15, or $20 into a $3 pot. I sat for 45 minutes, decided that this game was not going to be a good idea. The time charge was $5/half hour, which is just too expensive to sit and wait for a top quality hand. The other problem was that half the table thought they were on the WPT, taking too long pretending to think, making their opponent count down a stack, and just playing slow. Also every four hands or so, someone was buying in again, people were coloring up stacks of whites into reds or reds into black chips, and all in all we were getting 10 hands every half hour for our $5.

I like Foxwoods, and always perfered it to Mohegan Sun's poker room, but I wish they would re-open just to get a little competition in the area and a little more game selection. The last few months before the closed they had a great $2/4 or $4/8 OE game that I did pretty well at.
