King of the Zoo Rankings

We've completed 13 events for KotZ with 5 left to go. Starting with this event we start dropping the lowest scores, leaving only your top twelve finishes. So if you've played all 13, your lowest scoring in an event will be dropped. If you've played 12 or less, there will be no effect on your score.

What this means is that we're going to start seeing some changes in the rankings. It's going to matter less and less how many events you've played, but more on the quality of your highest finishes. For someone like myself whose rankings are more due to consistently playing in and surviving event after event, but without a lot of big money finishes, will have a bigger chunk taken out of my score than someone like Vinny. Vinny has a few tourneys where he busted out very early, but is countered by several strong money finishes. My lowest score is 60 points, Vinny has 4 results lower than that that will likely get erased and not have as big an impact.

Survialists like Sheriff, myself and Lori have the highest lows, i.e., we stand to stagnate the most as we have to beat higher scores to make our rankings go up. Players who rank high with 10 or less events under their belts like dogsballs, mrbaseball and CCass have the most to gain as they can only gain points in the next few weeks as any points they earn go right into their total. All in all, I expect the rankings to start correlating much more strongly with money won then they do currently. Which is how it was designed in the first place. So, I don't expect to be in the running without an outright win or a couple of good money finishes down the strech.

Here then are the top 40 rankings with the lowests scores pulled from the four players who've played all 13 events. These are unofficial until these get double checked by Simon.
