Was this a good or bad play on my part?
Situation: Multi-table (live) super-satelite into a bigger tourney. Blinds are 500/1000, 10 handed.
I'm on the button, my chip stack is 7000. It's folded around to the CO seat who moves in for 5500. I look at my cards and find the A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Chips stacks of the SB (about 9000), BB (about 6000). My read of the CO player was that he was getting short and needed to make a move with a less than premium hand. I'd seem him play Ace-rag, so I was confident that I had him beat. Since I don't want to have too many people in the hand to out draw me, I decided to move in my 7000 chips to try to get heads up with the CO and that I have a better hand then him. Was this a good play or should I have folded and waited for a better spot? I only have 4 rounds of chips and I didn't want to be forced to make a move with a lesser hand than what I had. Any advice would be appreciated. |
