Re: Looking for tips to improve my game
You won't necessarily find those abbreviations in a poker book. They're actually abbreviations based on Pokertracker ratings and terminology common to this site.
They refer to Tight vs Loose (or sL Slightly Loose) The A (or AG)/P refers to Aggressive vs. Passive. A SLAG is slight loose (preflop) Agressive (post flop) If you see 3 (with no G) ie TAA... Means Tight (preflop) Aggressive (preflop) and Aggressive (postflop) -- This is the theoretical ideal. A TPA would mean Tight preflop, Passive preflop (limps a lot) and Aggressive postflop. A "calling station" is someone who's very loose preflop, very passive pre and postflop AND who goes to showdown too often. A maniac is someone who's Loose Preflop/overly aggressive preflop/aggressive on the flop. |
