Default I hear about a lot of \"Free 50$ deals\"

for example, on recpoker there is a post offering free 50$. You don't even need to deposit. I don't understand how this could possibly turn anyone a profit. Why would they offer this.

I also remember the poster Inthacup offering something along these lines. I was just wondering what the basic idea / concept is.

If you get a solid 15/30 player under you in an affiliate program for life it will pay off well over $50. Consider it an investment.

Well, in the party affiliate program for example, the affiliate can choose to get 65$ from Party for getting a new affiliate, if they get more than 11 per month they even get 75$. So if they deposit 50$ for you they already have a guaranteed profit of 15$...
They can also take some risks and use the opion to get 20% from the monthly rake of their partners. This can be a real goldmine, like Thythe said.

OK, call me stupid, but if they have your account info -- what's stopping them from taking money out? There are two ads in the 2+2 classifieds right now that offer similar. it seems semi-shady. any help?

actually, if you offer the free $50, you aren't allowed to take this affiliate option, you must take the 20% mgr.

to make an account transfer, all I need is your account name and first and last name. never does the affiliate know your password unless you give it to them.

Pretty much, but the transfer would probably occur in the Party Poker client, not from Neteller.
