Simple limits question
If a place says they have $2 to $10 limits (and $3 to $15), what exactly does that imply? I only understand what $1/$2 $2/$4 implies.
Thanks |

Re: Simple limits question
Its probably a spread limit game where you can bet out anything between those parameters and can also raise anything between the numbers as long as it is at least double.
So in a 2-10 you can open for 2, 5, 6, 10 whatever. Say you lead for $5, the next guy can now raise you up to $15 to go or just double you and make it $10 to go as I understand it. I've never played it but I think that's the deal. |

Re: Simple limits question
1/2 implies that the big blind or starting bet is 1 dollar, in the last 2 rounds of betting the starting bet is 2 dollars. Unless youre talking about a spread limit game, which are common in california card rooms since no limit games are illegal.

Re: Simple limits question
Everybody seems to assume that you're talking about one single game but I think that the place you are talking about might be offering games from $1/2 up to $5/10 or something like that and that's what they mean by this.

Re: Simple limits question
Oh, after reading your post again I think I'm wrong. Sorry. So, yes, they're probably talking about spread limits.

Re: Simple limits question
when i asked the tournament director why they dont just do a no limit tournament instead of a spread limit tournament where the spread limit is higher than anyone could possibly have he told me it was illegal in california for cardrooms to have no limit games. i assumed he wasnt wrong.

Re: Simple limits question
well he was obviously an idiot.
now, i have never been to commerce or any of the non indian casinos but based on the posts here, they have no limit games. also on commerce's own website, http://www.commercecasino.com/index.htm, it cleary states that they have no limit games. im sure most of the other big LA casinos have nl games also. however, i have been to the indian casinos and they definitly do have no limit games. both morongo and vejas have no limit games. im sure others do aswell. |
