Default \"Donate\" to a presidentail campain

Ok, so i got to thinking(my 1st mistake). I believe that discover card charges 10 cents for every discover card transaction. So if I donate .01 cents 5000 times to George W. it may be the best 50 dollars I ever spent.

Assuming a dollar is worth equal value to both campains.
Cost 50
lost money by bush 450
+EV over donating to Kerry +400

What do you think?

Best Regards,
book

Thanks for being the first to speak up. I don't get it either. I can't even figure out who he's for.

Might work if the donation system is completely automated and badly programmed. They really allow $0.01 donations via credit card?

I'm no expert, but I think they would be charged by the bank through which they have the merchant account, not Discover card directly. There must be a minimum transaction amount, I doubt any payment processing service would allow a payment for less than the minimum fee.

Clarification:

If I donate 50 bucks to Kerry thru dicover card
50 dollars goes to Kerry.
.10 cents goes to discover card as a transcation fee.
EV 49.90

If i donate 50 dollars to bush at .01 for 5000 transactions
50 dollars spent
500 of transaction fees goes to discover (.10 cents per transaction.)
-450 loss by bush

+EV 399.90 to donate to bush instead of kerry

Does that futher explain it?

Pretty sure you got me confused with someone else. I'm just a poster responding to a decent poster. As for the political nature of the post. I believe if you were to donate to any political campain, you be better off to take money from the opposition then to donate to the person that you would support. That was the point of the post, not that you should vote kerry.
