Early in a small buy in on Paradise. I am in UTG + 2 with one black one and one red one. Blinds are 50/100. UTG calls...I make it 400 to go. Folded to the small blind who calls, BB folds, UTG calls
Flop is Jh Qd 2s SB bets 100, UTG calls, I dont want to see another card and push my stack in. SB calls and shows AA. Turn and river are no help and I'm on my way to the bar. As I said before, I am new to NL and really wanted to protect my hand from the others that would gladly fish for a straight or the third J or Q. Is this a good move or to aggressive to early on? |

Reserve an extra seat at the bar for me, because I'm joining you if I'm in the same situation. Sometimes, you just are going to lose. Kind of like getting the King high flush with 3 on the board and losing to the Ace high. You just shake their proverbial hand, and politely excuse yourself from the table, and throw down some suds somewhere.

[ QUOTE ] Is this a good move or to aggressive to early on? [/ QUOTE ] Good move. With 1500 in the pot, you've got to raise to at least 1000 here so you might as well push in unless you had ~3500 chips or more. Your callers will probably have AQ/KT/T9/junk more often than AA/QQ/JJ/QJ and your folding equity will also be very high. Che |

I'd play it the same way. Sure, you lose to AA, but you will get called by MANY more losing hands.

What am I missing? Don't you have a set of Jacks and the best hand?
