Default finally sucumbing to the pressures......

well at least i am going to take some money out of my accounts to purchase a nice flatscreen, this dinosaur that i am using leaves a little to be desired. i guess up to $500 would be my range, i dont need some 10 foot by 10 foot monster command center, the most games i ever play at one time is 3, typically i like 2 (1 cash, 1 tourney) surf web, email, and of course my mecca 2+2. suggestions please, including where to buy

thks i know this has been covered before, but cant find links, and please use kindergarten level words as that is my comprehension with this stuff....

morg.

Your best bet is to get a 19" flat screen CRT monitor. You can pick one up for under $200.00 and it will perform better then any LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) out there. Just go to your local office depot or whatever and ask them for a 19" CRT Flat screen monitor, they will know what your talking about.

Just remember the thinner, does not necessarily mean better quality.

For your price range that is what I would get. You will not be disapointed.

Your Welcome. Also bear in mind that lots of people on this forum have those flat panel monitors. In reality those look really cool because they are thin, but the quality is no where near CRT quality. So if you play games or anything else that requires decent graphics A normal CRT flat screen is your best bet. It all comes down to pixels the more the better. CRT monitors simply generate more pixels, and better quality images.

Good Luck!

I have 2 LCDs and 3 CRTs. Only reason I don't have 5 LCDs in my house is because I'm po.

Ok lets try a little test if you have nothing else to do right now.

I want you to get in front of one of your LCD monitors and look real close at the screen. Get your face within about an inch of the screen. Now, see all those pixels that are making up the display? Now do the same thing with your CRT, I bet you will not see hardly any pixels at all. There is your difference.

The CRT produces more pixels per square inch which means a better quality display.

http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...220&depa=0 is the best 19" flat crt that money can buy in my humble opinion. the nec fp912sb-bk is the same monitor.
