5.5: Donk, or good call?
** Poker Rewards[No Limit Hold 'em] Level 5 - Blinds are 160/320
- UTG (t2040) - UTG+1 (t1910) - UTG+2 (t1050) - Button (t2120) - SB (t930) - Hero (t1470) Villain posted the small blind - (t160) Hero posted the big blind - (t320) ** Dealing cards to Hero: J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG folded UTG+1 folded UTG+2 folded Button folded SB went all-in - (t930) Hero called - (t770) Reads - nothing special for villain, but his M is just over 2 starting the hand and the blinds double to 320/640 in 2 hands. With everyone folding to him, I think his range is huge, if not any 2 cards at this point. I am getting almost 2 to 1 on my money with a slightly better than average hand. My M is less than 4 before posting the blind in this hand, so I have to make a move of my own very soon and am about to put 160 in the next pot in the SB. I saw this as a clear call. Anyone care to convince me otherwise? |

Yep, I think it's clear cut. The SB could have a wide range of hands and you are getting good odds to call.

Re: 5.5: Donk, or good call?
horrible just horrible... you are obviously getting terrible odds to play this hand... do u not remember the white angry guy calling the black "homeless looking" guy at the WSOP with "JACK HIGH, HE CALLED ME WITH JACK HIGH HAHAHAH" ect... i think you get the point.
other than that... there is no other way to play this hand. :-D you played it great - *pat on back* |

Re: 5.5: Donk, or good call?
Thanks guys. Villain turned over A6o and I flopped a straight to win the hand. Villain then starts whining about me calling with half my stack. He even hung around to root against me for a while. I thought it was a clear call, but villain obviously didn't. I ended up taking third place.

Re: 5.5: Donk, or good call?
This seems common, that someone complains about your bad play either not counting the blinds, or thinking they apply to them and not you. or freaking out about luck (recent example, he flops set to my tptk AK, and I get running Ks to win. Freakish luck, but worth griping about by him?).
Anyway, I think you might play this even if cards face up. btw, something odd in HH. why does it say calls t770? Isn't it just t610 to call after BB out there? 770+SB = the call, but.. that doesn't make sense to me. Am I missing something? |

[/ QUOTE ] It does look a little wierd, but in the HH, the stacks that are listed are after the blinds have already been put out, so villain had 1090 to start, puts in a 160 blind and then goes all-in for his last 930. My call of 770 was after putting in 320 for the BB. 1090-320=770. |
