Re: Preflop 88, raise here or not.
1 overcard I never care much about, cept the A. I'll bet at the one overcard flops when in position and checked to almost 100% of the time. 2 overs, then I'm checking, unless tight/passive type player.

Re: Preflop 88, raise here or not.
In the CO, I buy my button, watch as the EP guy calls, fire to a flop check and take my pot. 6-max is just full ring without the first 3 positions.

[/ QUOTE ] You should start betting these 2 overcard flops a lot more. Try it out, you will like the results. Remember, if villain starts with 2 unpaired cards, he'll only flop a pair about 1/3 of the time. So even when there are overcards, there's about a 50% chance that he missed the flop or doesn't like his hand much. |

So even when there are overcards, there's about a 50% chance that he missed the flop or doesn't like his hand much. [/ QUOTE ] This suggests that betting the flop is wrong. If I take down the pot 50% of the time, then I net PFR. The other 50% of the time, I lose PFR + flop bet. This is a net loss. So either he's got to fold way more than 50%, or the times that I hit my hand have to make up for it. "A mix between the two" is a cheap answer; given that, which do you think dominates here? |
