I dunno man, that seems like a lot of games and it's not like the console versions of these games were anywhere close to the arcade versions. I think this is [censored], and a lot of these games are from my gaming prime.

I'm not gonna get it any time soon, I just was hoping to share with someone who thought it was as cool as I did.

WOW...anyone take a look at the price for the 'expansion' packs? I really want to know who is going to pay $800 just for Dragon's Lair.

Re: Arcade Machine I saw at Costco
I've played this machine at the local Costco and it's a decent machine, but seriously, it's overpriced for what it is. You could buy several REAL arcade machines (depending on what you want) for what these go for.
Or you could make your own MAME machine for a fraction of the cost - Buy a cabinet for a generic game (or a non-working game) for like $50 (some guys make their own but frankly I don't see the point) then throw in like a $500 PC (plus monitor if the monitor is crap or if you don't want want to deal with the PC to arcade monitor issue) and you're good to go (maybe a couple hundred dollars is you want to mod up the control panel and add extra/specialised controllers like a spinner or track ball). Then just paint up the cabinet or apply decals... |
