AQs flops TPGK in big pot.
Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (6 max, 5 handed) converter
Preflop: Hero is Button with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. MP posts a blind of $0.50. UTG calls, MP (poster) raises, Hero 3-bets, 2 folds, UTG calls, MP caps, Hero calls, UTG calls. I'm not exactly excited about this, but it could be worse. Flop: (13.50 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) UTG bets, MP raises, Hero calls, UTG calls. Not the best flop for me, but if am behind to soemthing like AK, I have lots of outs(3 Q's to win, 2 9's to split, 2 A's to split, plus a BDFD) I wanted to 3-bet and hope to knock out UTG, but I didn't want give MP the chance to cap it. Turn: (9.75 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) UTG checks, MP bets, Hero calls, UTG calls. Getting 10.75:1, this is an easy call, given my outs to win/chop, correct? River: (12.75 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) UTG checks, MP bets, Hero calls, UTG folds. Not exactly what I was looking for...but can I fold this, getting almost 14:1? Final Pot: 14.75 BB |

Re: AQs flops TPGK in big pot.
Meh, tough spot with no read on the poster. The only other line I might think about would be to raise the turn, but I really would hate to be 3bet, so I like the line you took.

Re: AQs flops TPGK in big pot.
Do you have a read on MP?
I think I would've 3-bet the flop. When a poster raises and gets 3-bet, the hand ranges for both actions tend to be wider, so he doesn't have to have AK/AA here. A read would help, but I think I like 3-betting the flop better. |

Re: AQs flops TPGK in big pot.
No reads here. I wanted to 3-bet the flop, but I wasn't really interested in (possibly) paying 4 SB's to see the turn when I can (probably) see it for 2 SB's.

Re: AQs flops TPGK in big pot.
Nice thinking. I think you are behind here most of the time and I like that you calling down hoping to make a chop or maybe even win it. The J on the river wasn't too good since the only hand you beat that I would put MP2 on is KK or QQ.

3 bet the flop. The response you get will help to identify your options

Re: AQs flops TPGK in big pot.
I like your line.
I'm not 3betting the flop unless I can fold the turn UI when he caps the flop and donks the turn. And there is no way I'm doing that getting ~11:1 with no read. Popping the turn is another option but I'm happy for UTG to stay in and getting 3bet would lick balls. |

Re: AQs flops TPGK in big pot.
Yuck what a crappy river card. This line seems reasonable enough to me though you just 3-bet the flop. Three handed pots are often good times to coldcall though and see how the other people react. If you had 3 other people behind you, you would go ahead and 3-bet it.

Re: AQs flops TPGK in big pot.
Hey Shillx, elaborate on why you would 3-bet here if you had others to act behind you. Seems like a WA/WB situation no matter how many other players are in the pot.
