cutting taxes does increase revenue. People have more money to spend and commerce rises causing economic growth. See the boom from 1982-2001

Ah yes, the Laffer Curve Theory: the relationship between tax rate and amount of tax revenue is inversely proportional. As you lower taxes you expand the economy and hence create more sources of tax revenue. I think this is a gross oversimpliciation as there are so many other variables causing interference.
