As affluent pop sensation Junior-Senior once said: D-D-D-Don't Stop the Beat!!
Time should not be a factor. If you have the nuts who cares how long it takes? At the end of the hand, you will have made so much money as to make the time investment worth it. And if you split, sho cares? I guess if you are paying the rake by the hour it would suck, but it didn't sound like the OP was in a rake per hour situation. Also, in the OP I would bet dollars to donuts that the Villain did not have the AK. |

Seriously, dont ask him if he wants to go all-in, that's a sign that screams you for having the nuts, just keep reraising and even if it's a split pot, who gives a damn, tell the other people to suck it if they complain, seriously.

Sky's the limit. What an opportunity if he has KK or A8! Don't worry about how long it takes, don't worry about if he has AK too. The dealer may keep your bets separate from his to simply a potential pot split. But if you do anything less than reraise reraise reraise reraise, there's something really wrong going on here.
As I posted somewhere else, I've seen a lady lose all her chips against a local rounder in a similar situation. Board Q J T 6 2 rainbow - they go all-in HU on the river. Both have AK, right? Well the rounder did. She flipped QQ and said "ship it!" ?? ScottieK |

Something like this happened to me my first trip to a B&M, I had also never played online. I had the nut flush and we went 4 bets until I just called. I didn't know that you could keep going if it was heads-up. I turn my hand over and the guy says he didn't even see the flush out there and he would have kept raising, I suck at poker.

Hello, El Diablo,
I've had a similar thing happen to me. And it will never again. Have a nice day! |

[/ QUOTE ] Agreed, and in many places it is not allowed even if agreed to as they force you to spell it all out. |

[ QUOTE ]
I have AKo on a AK8 flop against a fairly tight player who cold-called my EP raise and is just about all-in, so we only get in 6 flop bets (he has A3o... ok, maybe he wasn't so decent). [/ QUOTE ] Just curious, but do you usually go to the felt for 6 bets on the flop with someone you consider tight and decent with only the 4th nuts? Granted it is slim that he does not have AA or KK since he did not pop it again PF, but 88 is quite a possiblity wouldn't you think? |
