What constitutes a raked hand at GC?
If you sit at the table, fold before the flop (never putting any money in) does that count as a raked hand? Or do you have to put money in for it to count?
Thanks in advance... |

Re: What constitutes a raked hand at GC?
This is a great question.
We have 100+ people playing there and no one knows the answer? Is it (just dealt in) raked hands like on Party, Paradise, Stars, UB and True ? Or is it the dreaded "contributed" raked hands where you must actually put some chips into that pot? And--do the blinds count for that? Also, what is the threshold for a raked hand? Easy like Paradise or Party? Or more difficult like Stars? |

Thanks for taking the time to your lend voice to my question Abe.
I've asked it a few times and feel like I'm starting to sound like a broken record. |

Re: What constitutes a raked hand at GC?
I've sent no less than 5 emails to support about this subject without getting a satisfactory answer. I read the TAF agreement and it said something about contributing to a pot for it to count as a raked hand. But I played so many hands according to their play checker, that their count could not possibly be right.
Here is their last email regarding the subject. Hi there XXXXXXXXXX, Thank you for emailing The Gaming Club Poker Room. Kindly be advised that a raked hand is a real money hand where the pot is a sufficient size for the Site to rake a fee and to which a Rake was actually taken by our poker room. Our records show that you have raked a total of 162 hands to date. With regards to the 'Refer-a-Friend' bonus, it was deposited into your casino account on the 29th October 2003. The transaction number for this was 129585. It took me about 700 hands to get to that point. Maybe the GC rep who posts here can clear it all up for us. |

Re: What constitutes a raked hand at GC?
this sounds like you have to see the flop in order for the hand to count as a raked hand... perhaps tgc guy could provide us with the info...

Re: What constitutes a raked hand at GC?
The next question would be does it also have to hit the $5 threshold to count as well?

Re: What constitutes a raked hand at GC?
my guess is yes, because that's when there's rake collected for the house, right? thus, it is a raked hand...

Re: What constitutes a raked hand at GC?
I determined that if you are dealt cards and either fold or play, and the rake is .50 or more than it counts as a raked hand. To clear a bonus the rake has to be .50 but to play in the freeroll it just has to be raked. The best way to get these is to play the .25/.50 NL or PL games as almost all the pots are large enough to be raked .50.
This is what I did at Royal Vegas and I assume GC is similar. have only played limit at GC for the OIC but the rivers have been cruel! down about 15.00 at this time |

[ QUOTE ]
If you sit at the table, fold before the flop (never putting any money in) does that count as a raked hand? Or do you have to put money in for it to count? Thanks in advance... [/ QUOTE ] The principle of rake is simply a percentage (5%) of the pot deducted at each betting round with a maximum of $3 for the whole game. This means that when players bet, the pot accumulates to a certain size and when the betting round is completed, rake is deducted. There are different rake percentages and limits depending on the limits being played AND the number of players around the table at that betting round, e.g. (taken from our website) _____________________________ Tables with limits of $2.00/$4.00 - $3.00/$6.00 - $5.00/$10.00 - $10.00/$20.00 2-3 Players: $1.00 at $20.00 4-5 Players: $1.00 at $20.00, $40.00 6-10 Players: $1.00 at $20.00, $40.00, $60.00 Maximum Rake $3.00 _____________________________ This means that when the pot reaches $20 and there are between 2-3 players on the table, GCPoker will deduct $1. The number of player is defined as the number of people that were dealt cards at the start of hand(excludes people who are sitting out and empty seats). The $3 accumulated over all betting rounds until the hand is won. Rake is only calculated on called bets – That is when any one player has called the bet. Let's say that we have a scenario whereby on the first round of betting the pot reaches $22 and one bright spark in the second round of betting decides to bet $100 and everyone folds, rake will be deducted only from the $22, i.e. $1. Remember this differs depending on the table limits. For further information on the table limits etc see our website below: http://www.gamingclubpoker.com/realpoker_game_info.asp |
