Evil River
20-40
I have black 99 EP. UTG limps, I limp, 1 MP limper, Cutoff and Button limp, SB folds, BB checks. Flop JJ4..two hearts. Checked to me, I bet. All three behind me cold call. Others fold. Turn 9 heart (board JJ94, 3 hearts) I bet, MP calls, Cutoff raises. Button contemplates for a minute, and then calls. I three bet. MP folds. Cutoff looks in the air, and reluctantly calls, button folds. River is a 4. (board JJ944) Cutoff is a weak player, very loose chaser. His reaction on the turn after I made it 120 wasn't him acting to try to throw me off. What is my best move? Bet? Check and call? Check and fold? |

Re: Evil River
he probably has a flush so bet and fold to a raise. wimpy cutoff may just call w/ a J and he will definitely call w/ a flush. bad players play a lot of suited cards so he can have more flushes than normal players.

[/ QUOTE ] seems a fair analysis - but - if the cutoff is as bad as this desription hopes for its a short step to suggesting he might raise a bet with a flush - i've seen dumber - of-course he would be a great player if he pegged you for a tighty with a pair of nines and decided to attempt the steal stripsqueez - chickenhawk |
