Re: I still like cold calling my pairs.

Didn't say it had to be (AA) because it obviously does not. Does it really matter though, since no bigger pockets are folding anyway if they are out? [/ QUOTE ] Do you think he has a pocket pair more than 80% of the time? |

Re: I still like cold calling my pairs.
Not sure why you ask this considering I liked your turn bet, and would have considered leading the flop also (then reevaluating all choices on the turn).
Do I think someone still alive in the hand has a PP? Yes. 80%? Don't know. |

Re: I still like cold calling my pairs.
The turn bet doesn't seem bad now that you got yourself in this spot, but I'm not sure I like getting myself in this spot. Especially doing it without any reads.

Re: I still like cold calling my pairs.
If I was going to bet, I think I'd bet the flop. You might get all 3 of them to fold 1/14 times. I doubt you get all of them to fold on the turn 1/8 times since the flop checked through. I dunno, maybe with the 7 pairing you do..
Lead the flop, check behind the turn, call a river bet HU UI. Having checked the flop through, I'd still check behind the turn and likely call a river bet HU, or fold if it gets overcalled. I just don't think you have the FE on the turn, and the flop and turn check through is really suspicious given the action pflop. Without reads, I'd just want to get to showdown and see what these clowns play this way. |

He's not trying to fold out better hands here. There is a reasonable chance he has the best hand at this point.

Re: I still like cold calling my pairs.
I dont like the bet. I think you are behind virtually everything. Someone is slowplaying a monster or is calling with a high pp. UTG,MP,SB cant all have high cards. The only hands I 3-bet out of sb which you beat is KQ-KJs. UTG might raise with some king I agree. But is MP cold calling with a king? Its just so hard to construct a scenario when you are ahead imo.

Re: I still like cold calling my pairs.
I think your PF play is poor and I think your postflop play is worse. I doubt you will take this pot down enough with a single bet on the turn to make it +ev. What makes more sense to me is checking it through to the river.. unlimited odds to hit your 2 outer is a beautiful thing. Once it gets checked through on the flop and then the turn, you are very likely looking at a monster, a mid-big PP that is scared of the A(who will not fold after the flop checks around), or two other big cards. However, I think you are way behind too often here. Check it thru, wait for the river and the river action.
