First 6-max session. AK misses
Im trying 6-max and it seems fun.
I have no reads yet Party Poker 0.50/1.00 Hold'em (6 handed link Preflop: Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 1 folds, MP calls, 2 folds, Hero raises, BB calls, MP calls. Flop: (6.00 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets, BB calls, MP calls. Turn: (4.50 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero checks, BB checks, MP checks. River: (4.50 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero checks, BB checks, MP bets, Hero calls, BB folds. Final Pot: 6.50 BB. Do I play these the same like full ring, or do I have to learn to the appreciate the value of ace high? |

Re: First 6-max session. AK misses
Good luck with the shorthanded, you'll dig it.
I think I'd bet the turn again. Not only do you have a decent draw if behind (I'd value it at about 8 outs with the GS+OCs), you could still have the best hand, or might get a better hand to fold. You'll often have to call a bet anyway, so might as well bet yourself for the reasons above as long as you don't get raised too much, this game is fairly passive if I remember correctly. I'd probably payoff the river also. I'm a little worried about the 3rd guy being in there, just hope he doesn't overcall with bottom pair. |

Re: First 6-max session. AK misses
Without a read I like it. The biggest mistake one could make here is laying down the best hand. I think we are good here >20% of the time against an unknown, so I call the river bet. With a good read, we can lay this down.

Re: First 6-max session. AK misses
Position is key in this hand.
And it's really bad for you. The flop continuation bet is good, but they both called. So assume you are behind in this small pot. Turn check, good. You checked because your position sucks. Also, in order to call this river bet, you must have a read. The pot is small (5.50 BB's), against an unknown, I'm folding the river. |

Re: First 6-max session. AK misses
I bet the turn because of the number of outs you still have to improve. You have a gutshot and your king outs are probably good as well. While I wouldn't want to be raised here you hand could live with it given this fact. That and your potential fold equity(assuming these guys can find a fold) make this a bet.
