What\'s the fastest you\'ve ever lost 25 BB?
I just lost 25BB in 12 hands. First hand at the table, I'm dealt AQo in the BB. CO raises, I 3 bet, he caps, I call. Flop board KQQ-6-A. All streets capped. I lose to KK. 12 BB lost first hand. I may have saved myself 2 BB on the turn with a bet/call thinking he may have KQ... but I didn't.
In BB again, dealt two black Jacks. EP player raises, CO and button call, I 3 bet, EP caps, CO calls, button folds, I call. Flop AKJ. I bet, EP raises, CO calls, I 3 bet, EP caps, CO folds. Turn 8, capped. River, K, I bet/call. He has, of course, AK. Next hand, in SB, I have A6s. 3 callers, I complete, BB checks. Flop has AQ2, I check/call down and lose to Q2 in BB who flopped 2 pair. 25 BB, 12 hands. Not really bad luck, just ran into bad situations. The hands I hate losing are when someone should NOT be in the hand and they hit something to beat me on the river. All 3 of these hands were destined for me to lose. Just wondering if anyone else has run down 25BB as quickly as this? |

At one table? No idea. But when multitabling 6max I know that I've dropped 50 BB in 15 minutes.

You way overplayed the AQ and JJ hands. [/ QUOTE ] Yep. Especially the AQ hand - what did you put him on when he raised you on the turn? AA? QJ? You could have easily saved 8-10 BBs between these two hands - that's more than a third of your loss. And to answer your original question, I think that playing live the quickest I've lost 25BB is probably like 45 minutes. Nothing as spectacular as your hands, just a little bad luck combined with a lot of bad playing. |

Re: What\'s the fastest you\'ve ever lost 25 BB?
I wouldn't hate losing those hands where an opponent stays in to the river to catch a miracle card. Frustrating I understand, but these are the people that pay you, so don't bite the hand that feeds you.
There's some program which allows you to cover up the chip amount you have at the table. I've been thinking of downloading this thing because it makes a lot of sense. The cliche "It's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game" is more true for poker than anything else (assuming proper table selection). The good thing about a quick downswing like this is it forces you to think about the things you might have been able to do differently. Then you learn/understand a few things and voila you've turned it into a +EV situation. What you learned will pay off in the future. The problem with short term wins is that there is a possibility that you played badly, but didn't realize it. |

Like 4 minutes. But this isn't the place to talk about how much you or I suck.
