400nl nice draw
400nl on party poker, 8 handed. Im new to the table and dont have any reads on villan. Effective stacks are 400 each. Folded to me in mp1, I make it 15 with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], the sb calls, who had instacall on and the BB calls.
Flop comes 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Checked to me, I bet 35 into 43 pot, my standard cont. bet. Sb makes it 85, bb folds. Call or push? I could reraise to 250 but its close enough to allin that a push is probably the only raise. Flop comes |

Re: 400nl nice draw
with a read, id be more likely to push against tighter player for metagame purposes and call against a looser player wholl pay off anyway.
As it is, i call. You're getting basically 3 to 1 for your slightly better than 3 to 1 shot, and the implied odds are huge. It's a bit too small a pot to get all in, unless serious metagame purposes imho. |

Re: 400nl nice draw
The implied odds are NOT huge here.
Flush = Obvious Four Straight = Obvious This is more of a reason to get it in now. You've got a lot of equity here, even against monsters: Board: 7s 8h Js Hand 1: 40.6566 % [ 00.37 00.03 ] { AsTs } Hand 2: 59.3434 % [ 00.56 00.03 ] { Th9h } Hand 1: 33.3838 % [ 00.33 00.00 ] { AsTs } Hand 2: 66.6162 % [ 00.66 00.00 ] { JhJd } Hand 1: 41.7677 % [ 00.41 00.00 ] { AsTs } Hand 2: 58.2323 % [ 00.58 00.00 ] { Jh8s } Hand 1: 49.4444 % [ 00.45 00.05 ] { AsTs } Hand 2: 50.5556 % [ 00.46 00.05 ] { JhTh } Hand 1: 52.4747 % [ 00.52 00.00 ] { AsTs } Hand 2: 47.5253 % [ 00.47 00.00 ] { KsKh } His raise looks pretty weak, and I think that we see a lot of weaker hands here, too. With no read, I usually push here. You'll be overbetting the pot by a little bit, but any less leaves weird stacks. If you think that he has a monster, just take the sick price he gave you, and lead hard if you hit your hand. If you're lucky, you'll both hit the straight with the T and you can freeroll him. |

Leaving $85 behind? Why not push?

Re: 400nl nice draw
I push hoping to get a call from KQs (that's what actually happend to me once when I push overbet like 8xpot with set in this spot). I would only call if implied odds were more convincing here as one poster already noticed.
Best wishes |

Normally I think the same way as Jim does in his post, and I push. I don't know why I didnt this time but I believe it would have been the right play and won me the pot there.
Instead, I called. Turn was perfect 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. He checks, I bet 125, he pushes. I call and he is drawing dead with JK offsuit. Even though he paid me off, I cant believe he would have called a push with that hand, and it would have been good for metagame, so I should have pushed even though I stacked him this time. |
