Default strange passive donk check

I call in MP after one limper with K-10 off.

SB folds, BB checks option.

flop 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

check, check, i bet, BB check raises, limper folds, I call.

turn 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

BB checks....

My play???

Does this guy almost always have a flush draw and an overcard here? Or is he trying to c'r me twice with a hand?

Thoughts, please...

Especially from the mod, because, i love reading his opinion.

Fold preflop. Bet turn. I assume you were raising if he bet? Why not bet if he checked then?

i dont need a PF reply, as this is a post-flop question, Doc. any explanation for betting here on the turn?

and just for the record, why do you reccomend folding k-10 PF in MP after one limper?

The BB's combined flop and turn play is very typical among semi-aggressive mid limit players who have some sort of weak made hand (i.e. 2nd pair) + draw, that missed on the turn. You are almost certainly good and should bet. There are some players who will checkraise their draw twice - you get to know them, and you just beg them to try it on this board. But I don't know your opponent so I can't tell you what to do if checkraised.

Since you didn't ask, I won't say that overlimping a bad offsuit king in MP is generally a -EV play.

the thread addresses a check raise/check.....

not whether playing K10 in mp in an unraised pot is a horrible play.....

if you've seen this play and have some thoughts regarding it, it would be appreciated, because for the most part, i was unsure how to respond....

Do you want to get better at poker or not? Why would you want to ignore the preflop play when it's clearly an error?

As for the postflop play, see Ryno's post.
