Yes, looking at the log he sent me I blew it out of proportion. Sorry about the misunderstanding.

Party alone makes millions a day. If cheating/bots ever seriously threat the sites have a ridiculous amount of resources to pour into this.

Any poker player who is afraid of playing against a bot should quit and never play another hand of poker ever again.

From a programmer's stand point, i dont see how any poker room could detect if the person is really playing or if there is a bot playing. Only way to do this would be to send a sort of probe to the person's computer and see if they respond. Like a message saying "are you a bot" lol. But then you can have bots respond to this. Also, this wouldn't be very practical.

Any poker player who is afraid of playing against a bot should quit and never play another hand of poker ever again. [/ QUOTE ] You are silly. Assuming you are a winning player (probably stupid on my part), where do you think your money comes from? Figure that out, then figure out the effect of a large number of bots on that source, and then take that to its logical conclusion. |

Also, this wouldn't be very practical. [/ QUOTE ] From an automated software testing specialist's standpoint, I completely disagree. Sure, there's always the technology to make "bots" that are ahead of detection capability, but without a testing ground for them, it woudl be impossible for coders to ensure that their bots don't screw up. And all it takes is a few "screw ups" before a bot is caught. Easy solution: Make the play money games different in terms of UI, etc. from the real money games so that bot makers can't test their bots on the play tables. Make them pay to test their bots. |
