Best/Worst Decade in American History
OK, you're history major, and for two months you get to pick a decade and research the [censored] out of it.
1. Which decade would you pick? 2. Which decade would immediately be stricken from the list? Note: This is all post-~1750, let's say. Offhand I'll say the worst is the 1880s. |

Re: Best/Worst Decade in American History *DELETED*
edit -- The roaring '20s would be good as would the 1900's. I would avoid 1830-1860 and 1930's.
Sorry I read the OP too fast. |

EDIT: The point is which would interest you, and which wouldn't interest you. Sorry for being vague.

Re: Best/Worst Decade in American History
Probably 1970's, 1930's, 1860's...?
Bad economy plus disco in the 70's, horrible economy in the 30's and civil war in the 1860's. |

Re: Best/Worst Decade in American History
The 1930s kinda blew ass too, because of the whole Great Depression thing and WWII (which we got into in '39). But I'm splitting hairs.
I like the 1960s for good -- so much social progress, etc. |

Re: Best/Worst Decade in American History
Easiest is prolly gonna be 1940s. Hardest is prolly anything in the period between the Revolutionary War and Civil War.
