AKO vs a good player
canterbury 15/30 9 handed
villain here is a regular in this game. he knows and respects my play and i know and respect his. I raise in EP with AKo, folds to villain who 3-bets, folds back to me and i make it 4, villain just calls. flop HU: 642r I bet, he calls Turn: K I bet, he calls. River: 4 I think about betting and think about checking. What do i do and why? |

Re: AKO vs a good player
Theres really a player in the CB 15 game whose play you respect?
I agree with bet call. I dont see him betting a worse hand other than QQ. |

Re: AKO vs a good player
bet/call seems about right to me. Seriously, what hand does he 3-bet at a full table that includes a 4? At no point has he raised or given you any reason to slow down, so why do that now? Think he 3-bets 66, A4, 44, or 33 preflop? I'm just now venturing into the lower-mid stakes games, but I can't see this. I have to believe that YHIG here.
edited to add: would a river 3-bet be out of line here? |

Re: AKO vs a good player
A c/r has no value. If he has 99 or TT and was cautious on the flop, due to your preflop 4 bet, he probably won't bet the river and certainly won't call a raise. It would be a disaster to let these hands check behind.
Bet-fold is just nuts, if he has AA or KK, good for him, if you get raised I'd expect to chop a fair amount of the time, and see AA the rest. Bet-call seems like the only way to go. lf |

[/ QUOTE ] I think that it is crazy to CR the river. Too many hands get off for free that you beat. Bet the river and enjoy that extra 1BB you made by not trying to be sexy, imo. |

[/ QUOTE ] I wasn't. I was trying to figure out if he was more likely to call or bet a hand like QQ-JJ. |
