Simple SSHE problem, I can\'t find my book!
Let's say 10 seats $2/$4 on a site like Party, 3 folds, 1 Raiser in MP, everybody folds to you on the button with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3-bet 100% of the time agianst a regular guy, (not a super-rock) ?

Re: Simple SSHE problem, I can\'t find my book!
pp. 80-83 SSHE recommends not to reraise in tight or loose games. Goes on to say "I'm in your other hand"

What about the theory if your gonna enter the pot preflop its for raise or fold. Also by raising and if he reraises you you gain info also. Thuis you will win the pot if he has a-k, a-q and misses flop

There are many many hands that you just call in on as they are speculative hands. |

Re: Simple SSHE problem, I can\'t find my book!
I will go over some of the resons this problem confused me enough to not remember off the top of my head what to do.
AJs is a pretty good hand, I could be up agianst AK or AQ but I am suited so that might make up for when I am behind these hands, and his raise could possibly be 77 or better or even KQ a small part of the time, if I raise I might give the impression of extra strength and will be more able to tell if I can steal the pot on the flop. if he calls my 3-bet a steal is a good play he if checks, if he caps then I will probally fold if I miss on the flop and he bets. In fact I 3-bet the guy, he called my 3-bet, I hit a pair of jacks, he checked, I bet, I took down the pot. Still curious if this is a money making play in the long run, maybe we can look beyond the SSHE material. |

Re: Simple SSHE problem, I can\'t find my book!
Ummm It depends. Against a player who's raising about 8 to 9% of their hands preflop and seems to be position aware. AJs does not stack up so well against his range (AA-TT, AK, AQs). But against a lag who's seeing 40% of flops and raising 15-20% and has no clue on position or even just a slight clue on position this would be a raise to me.
