They have very different mannerisms and their views on the Commerce Clause are completely different. I think the Scalia is the the liberal boogieman and they pull his characature out of the closet to scare little children (i.e. liberals) to motivate action. -Gryph PS: sorry about the little children = liberals comment. I think the OP is referring to the story that was on Drudge and repeated by Chris Matthews on Hardball that the democrats were circulating talking points that used the nickname 'Scalito' and purportedly contained several ethnic/racial slurs.
The reality is that the 'talking points' were being circulated by one of Alito's former law clerks whose now part of the republican leadership. And there are no concievable racial or ethnic slurs in the piece in any case. "Scalito" is a nickname that Alito has been carrying for years and has been so referred by both friends and opponents for much of that time. |
