He was probably thinking, "YES!! I KNEW my straight was good!" as the chips were pushed towards him.

I actually thought i still had the best hand on the river and decided to check to see if he would bet for me, since I believed he was on a busted draw and if i bet he would just fold.
But that check by him afterwards, awesome. Saved me so much money. |

It's surprising how many people think you have to check raise a flopped full house. Just bet it, no point trying to be tricky. You can't build a big pot without putting money in.

I don't see how this makes you the best plo8 player unless it's because you have some sort of idiot magnet and you found someone too stupid to punish you when they gambled and got very lucky. And you didn't check the river because you sensed he drew out on you. You admitted you still thought you had the best hand and were trying to induce a bluff. You need to ease up on the PR because you're starting to sound like someone who is in love with hearing their own voice.

No, actually it's called self deprecating humour, a very English form of humour. You're absolutely right when you say "And you didn't check the river because you sensed he drew out on you" that's part of what makes what I said self deprecating. It's pretty obvious TO EVERYONE i didn't do that, that's what makes the statement funny....

Ahhh... I see. My apologies. Question for the group here: How much self deprication does it take to get to the center of a self neurosis? The world may never know....

I'm amazed more by his every call prior to the river. His river check is just the icing on the cake.
It makes me wonder if there are a lot of people who sit down and the tables and start playing without really having any idea how to play the game. |
