You should probably play less impatiently then. [/ QUOTE ] Were you paying attention to the 349801734907 times ZJ held on by his fingernails when it got down to 30 or so? He lived on the blinds. I'm amazed he got to HU. |

These people dont play enough sit and gos...cmon youve never lost with a 3-1 chip lead before? Zee was probably about 75-85% to win, and ok the 20-25% chance that he wouldn't win came up. The blinds were reasonably high if I recall also... Anyway I didnt see the specific hands but I highly doubt ZJ did anything completely retarded headsup. |

Blinds were 30,000 and 60,000 at the end
2.6 million total chips in play |

I didn't see it, but grats ZJ. Whatever place you come in, 115k in an evening is pretty damn great.

So thats like 13k each with 300-600 blinds. Sit and gos would be 5k each with 300-600 blinds. Signifigant difference...but still pretty fast blind structure. Once you are raised preflop to 1800, you are almost always committing all your chips with a reraise. Of course a hand like A8o headsup is almost always worth a reraise in that spot, especailly if you have less than 13k. I didn't see the hand, but I would bet money blind that what ZJ did was reasonable. |

[/ QUOTE ] Im sure it was +EV if you were to do the numbers, its just that I think he had a significant edge against this player, and didnt need to be playing for his stack with A8o. I'd think with an A8o type hand, he should be trying to keep the pot small. Against the other player, he really could have found a better spot (usually) i think. |

[/ QUOTE ] Tip for future: Don't look for better spots when the BB is usually going to be less than 20x you or your opponent's stack. Everyone likes to dream that your opponent is just going to fold every single hand till forever, but this usually isnt the way it is. If the other player was the loose variety, then I highly suspect his play was correct. If he was passive, he might easily not be so passive anymore once its headsup and there is no need to worry about finishing 3rd, 4th or 5th or bubbling or whatever. Assuming that you have a strong idea of how the opponent is going to play once it's heads up, based on play earlier in a tuornament, is often misguided. |
