Re: AA Pot control VS Protection
You need to bet this turn, too many draws and he check/called flop so a draw is quite likely.

You need to bet this turn, too many draws and he check/called flop so a draw is quite likely. [/ QUOTE ] hence my struggle between deciding to protect my hand versus controlling the pot. villain was loose so a 6 is definitely possible, as is a draw (including an overcard draw). overcard draw won't call a bet, but the 6 will. a fd will call a bet but straight draw may not. I don't have a way of knowing if villain is calling on a draw or calling iwth a better hand. any diamond or connecting card ruins my hand on the river, and building a pot makes bigger bets from villain calls with the pot odds if the river bricks. so i elected to keep it small and fold to a bad card, but call a pot-sized to 2/3 bet. checking turn induces worse hands to bet the river. betting turn keeps only draws and better hands and probably won't get a bet from worse hands on the river. |

Easy river raise. [/ QUOTE ] Good point. I was afraid of the fish special of tiny bet RR all in. Agree with pokerjoker that the turn check is good? |
