My Upcoming Book on Party Poker
I'm writing a Management book and I wanted to interview the guy making the decisions at Party Poker. This man is Vikrant Bhargava. The princess and Dishit have been busy spending money since the IPO, so Vikrant is the man!
Here's the e-mail I sent him: Hello, I'm writing a book that is nearly complete on Management of large companies. As someone who is a leader in your industry I was wondering if you would consider an interview. Chapter 8 of the book is filled with warnings on what not to do as a company. In this chapter I would like to give an example. Party Gaming is the only company I know of that has lost 5 billion in market capitilization in the last 3 months, so I thought you'd be a great contributor! Not only have you lost more money than anyone, you have also angered more people than anyone since the Enron scandal. Now that's a one/two punch! It would be helpful if you could give me insights on how it is possible to mess up a company this badly in such a short amount of time. How many horrible decisions do you have to make? Is it just 1 or 2 really bad ones? Or do you have to make 20 or 30 medium size mistakes? Do you think that turning the worlds largest poker room into the 10th largest online casino is the icing on the cake? Or do you expect to make several more mistakes before completing your task? Please help me, you, being the supreme expert in the field of destroying a company, can really help my readers understand what to avoid. I would even consider putting you on the cover. Best Regards, Fred Smits I await his reply. I would post his e-mail address, but I don't want someone else getting the interview first. |

Re: My Upcoming Book on Party Poker
Oh well, your logic is skewed but it was a halfway decent attempt at some satire of the situation.

It's a shame- your gimmick account really had potential.

Re: My Upcoming Book on Party Poker
Business wise their recent split with the skins was very smart, and seems to have worked out perfectly. Adding blackjack and sidebets is icing on the cake.
