Proper action with trips?
BB is 32/17/3.7 after 140 hands
Limpers all the way and I call in the SB with 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] The flop is 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I bet, BB raises, UTG+MP+Button fold, I 3-bet, BB caps I check-call the Q and 8 turn/river. Is it enough action or should I check/raise some of the big streets? |

Re: Proper action with trips?
given your flop 3 bet i like the slowdown, way ahead or way behind.
the question is do you feign a slowdown on the flop and just call the raise, to set up the turn checkraise |

Re: Proper action with trips?
If he has a 7 it makes no sense for him to knock out people with the flop raise (they would draw to overcards), but he seems to be a postflop maniac, so why should he need reasons?
I would certainly just call the 3-bet and check-raise the turn with a better kicker (J or better). On the river some draws got there and I'm not afraid he'll check behind with a worse hand. |

Re: Proper action with trips?
so wait, he's a postflop maniac? that's kind of important information. so why not checkraise the turn? you gotta think you are ahead

Re: Proper action with trips?
against the flop cap i like a turn c/r. The guy is 3.7!! you gotta figure you are ahead a fair bit of the time.
I think leading the flop you'll get raised by villain; if you are 3-bet on a c/r, you can then slow down. |

Re: Proper action with trips?
I think it's fine.
Be wary of using the AF as a read, it takes a lot longer to converge than vpip or pfr. |
