Re: Stuff I do that I don\'t like
[ QUOTE ]
how many more bets are you planning on putting into this pot? [/ QUOTE ] Zero, although I had to fold to a bet on the river (a T fell). |

The good news is that your 2-pair outs are golden, [/ QUOTE ] Wha....? [/ QUOTE ] Sorry 2-pair/trips outs. The 3 outs for 2 pair and 2 outs for making a set... I doubt they're counterfeited. KO |

you are VASTLY overvaluing two-pair trip out here.

Re: Stuff I do that I don\'t like
[ QUOTE ]
Alright KO .... now that my brain is hurting from all that... I think i've got a lot of learning to do! I guess what you're saying is that in the sb, only one limper, I should tighten up my play with any 2 suited. Basically, if they're not connected, or have no high card value, I should really consider folding. I know there is no definite answer, but just trying to understand this. [/ QUOTE ] It sounds like your getting it man. With just 1 limper I don't complete unless its Axs-Qxs or suited conectors. With 2 limpers I complete down to Jxs and suited one and two gaps (no lower than this 47 with the 2 gaps). With 3 or more I go to the SSH any 2 suited. Anyone else go with this kinda defaults, cause sometimes I think I'm a tad tight in SB |

Re: A similar hand that I don\'t like - family pot, though
if i'm close to closing the action I might peel.
you're ignoring reverse implied odds, as well as the possibility that it's 3-bet or capped behind you. further, if you pick up something like a gutshot, you may be forced to make tough calls on the turn. basically, there's a strong chance you're going need to invest a lot to see the river here, you're likely behind, and you don't exactly have a strong draw. |

you are VASTLY overvaluing two-pair trip out here. [/ QUOTE ] I don't see why - are we putting someone on Q4/35/QQ/66/44/22? This board is pretty drawless, only backdoor flushes are possible, very unlikely to make someone a straight (we have a stopper card) and fearing sets is generally a bad idea. I'd wager that all of your 2-pair/set outs are likely to be good here. |

Re: A similar hand that I don\'t like - family pot, though
if someone has an overpair to your 6's? if they merely have a Q? what happens when you hit your raggedy two pair and lose?
and what kind of bullshit advice is "fearing sets is generally a bad idea" ? yeah... looking for monsters under the bed is always wrong... but while you're busy drawing to YOUR set saying... (and you're not going to believe this)... other people hit them, too! the point isn't that somebody likely has a set right now, and certainly if you hit your 6 you stand a strong chance of winning this pot... but that when the action goes bet/raise the chances of people holding hands that positively own you increase dramatically. you don't know what this means, other than you have a very low middle pair, and a worthless kicker, and other people like their hands that assuredly have you beaten... and you don't know how many bets you're going to have to spend to see the river here. and when you improve, you still may not have the best hand. |
