Weak suited ace on the button - let\'s play along
There've been a couple of threads on "what to do against really bad players" in the past couple of days. Here's an example. Ungodly bad table. The players to my left are:
SB: 50/0.00/1.64 (22) BB: 57.1/2.86/0.40 (70) UTG: 46/0.00/0.62 (63) All three of them are capable of playing hands down to Jxo all the way to the river if not showdown with jack-high. Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG calls, 6 folds, Hero calls, SB completes, BB checks. I can't imagine not playing this with position on three such awful players, but does anybody raise this preflop? Flop: (4 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players) SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, hero? |

I don't dislike the limp, however, I'd raise it up PF. Ummm...bet the flop?

Re: Weak suited ace on the button - let\'s play along
I agree completely with your preflop call. You have position and they are horrible - you cannot ask for much more. I also think about the raise, but I just can't do it with that kicker. This may be weak-tight however.
I bet the flop. There is a chance that a better Ace has you beat, but if you are confident that the other players will come along you are getting decent value here. You are basically up against 2 random hands a player that will play any Jack+. I think your equity here has to be >25%? |

[/ QUOTE ] I agree that a raise is not warrented here. I don't think that the 6 has enough high card power in this spot. I would raise with an 8, nothing less. The suitedness of the the hand would require more (bad poker playing) callers to warrent a raise IMO. |

Realistically we are up against 1 limper who plays any Jack+ and two random hands. I wonder if the Ace by itself isn't a strong enough card here to raise.... |
