Re: $11 SnG PP--River Trips
Don't bet the flop. Call the river.

Re: $11 SnG PP--River Trips
Two reasonable plays here -- call or go all in. More than likely, your jacks are good here. Worring about a boat is not good poker here. The other hand that crushes you is 9t. However, with the spades on the flop, I would think the villain makes some kind of value bet on the turn, though he very well may have been check raising the hero to induce a bigger pot. Either way, with the pot of over $1000, and getting 4 to 1 on it, you cannot fold with trips. Make the best read you can on the villain and then either call or push. With no relevant info, I prob just call so I have a few chips left to work with.

Re: $11 SnG PP--River Trips
I wouldn't fold, so unless he has a poorly played 109 or QJ and was giving you free cards on a potential flush draw, I'd just min-raise all-in. I'd optimally hope to see him have something like JT or J9.

Re: $11 SnG PP--River Trips
To the contrary, I think you bet the flop and bet it hard. You got 285 in already. I actually would have moved ai on the flop, hoping to secure 300 valuable tourney chips - over 1/3 of your starting stack - with almost definitely the best hand. Worrying about t9 is counterproductive. If he wants to chase a flush, fine by me, but make him commit way to many chips to do so.

Re: $11 SnG PP--River Trips
I went all-in without hesitation here - I was cheering out loud when the last jack came out - and my esteemed opponent had J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
And the worst part is, I don't think he did anything wrong. He was getting a little better than five-to-one preflop and flopped bottom two pair. I mean, I would have bet it in his position, but he did just fine, knocking out two opponents. <edited - fixed a typo> |

Re: $11 SnG PP--River Trips
You could have raised PF to isolate your opponent. I would have maybe popped it up to 175.
