Read small stakes hold'em by David Skylanski (SP?). A lot of no Limit players, even experienced ones, have trouble with micro/small stakes Hold' em. Also Internet Hold Em is another good book. Start out at .50/1 after reading these books. Advance after winning 100BB in each respective game.

Do not play .50/1 limit until you have at least 300BB ($300) for that game and do not move up until you have 300BB for the next level. You should be playing .10/.25 limit or 10NL (maybe even 5NL) if you want to start out playing cash games. If you want to play STT's, check out the 1-table tournaments forum. Some of the most talented STT players in the world are there. |

Well, I think that while it's not hard to lose your first $100 right away (as I did), if you can find a good deposit bonus you can get a lot for your money. Empire offers 100% reloads sometimes, and while you have to play 1000 hands, it wouldn't be hard to clear even with some negative varience. Many Cryptologic sites ofter nice $50 bonuses for 250-300 hands, or 5 hours per month...you must play $1/$2 limit for it though which is obviously a little risky for a $100 bankroll, however if you're a good player you should have no problem with them and the bonuses take a lot of the risk out of it. Good luck!

Homer's "Building a Bankroll" post
That oughta about cover it. FWIW, I started out with a $20 deposit, playing .02/.04 LHE on Pacific. That was just over a year ago; between all the sites I have money on, I'm properly bankrolled for 10/20 now. If I hadn't made any cashouts over that year, it'd be 30/60. So yeah, it's very doable with a $100 starting 'roll. |

I agree that you should play SnGs with a low buy in. However I think that you should start by spending 25 $ to buy the first Dan harrington book and read it Buy the next one as soon as you start winning.
Start playing at pacific the game is very soft and the if you play 5 $ SnGs you pay 0.5 $ rake and not 1 $ as you do at paradise. The software sucks at pacific but so does the opponants. Good luck sunek A last remark: forget everything about clearing bonuses - it allmost killed me when I started playing online. Keep playing the freerolls - it is often good practice. |

[/ QUOTE ] Youre last comment is horribly flawed. How can you attribute you losing to clearing bonuses? Does your play change from a 7X to a 10-15X bonus. It shouldn't. Thats just retarded. PS Pacific sux, their support sux, their bonus sux, yes their players suck too, but I know that the WEEK (and yes it really is a week) wait on a cashout is not worth it when you could be playing on that money, and winning more. First forget everything about these SnG ideas. Your largely under rolled for that, plus SnG's will break you in the long run if you dont know about the advanced skills discussed in the STT forum. Books..well whatever but most of everything you can find in there is on here if you search long enough. I didnt learn from a book I learned from experience and this site. If you do buy books dont buy anything that isnt 2+2. You need to play as close to .05/.10, (.10/20 and .25/.50 may be ok too if you know what you are doing) Limit Hold'em as you can find. and I still dont think this is enough, but every new player ends up playing under-rolled when starting out. You kinda have to until you have about 300$, or deal with a very slow start. Start by playing at The Casino net site that's in the bonus section. you can clear a 100$ bonus playing .05/.10 or .10/.20 software sux, but what do you expect. Next forget about rakeback, this is just retared and a waste of time until you start playing over 2/4 and even then I would make more money from bonuses than the same kind of player, same limits ....playing for rakeback. once you'er in the 3/6 5/10 range then rakeback is more profitable. Make bonuswhores your home page. sign up for he newsletter. Forget about freerolls as these are really a waste of time unless its like a prima 1K gauranteed...Speaking of prima you should look into all of those sites once you get to the .25/50 and .50/1 games. I even hear that they have "beginner" .05/.10 games now too. Don't live by the 300BB rule as it is way overrated. It's too little. 200BB swings happen, losing 2/3 of your bankroll shouldnt. Learn 6-max to avoid burnout, plus this is an exellent way to clear bonuses. IMPORTANT!!! DO NOT SIGN UP AT ANY SITE THAT YOU CANNOT TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF THEIR SIGN UP BONUS. Stop re-read that then go on. in 6 mo you'll know why. Bonuses are your bread and butter right now. You are lucky that you are starting now when there are so many cardrooms/skins to choose from that all want to give you a little something to play there. Its really not hard. I played only about an hour a day and got a 50$ investment into 1K in 60 days, but you have to knwo what you are doing or you will take a inevitable and harsh downswing. Good luck man, PM me if you want some more bonus advice without all this poo to sift through. |

I like pokerstars the best.
With your TINY, TINY, TINY bankroll, play no higher than .05/.10 NL games. If you want to be macho and play higher limits then I would wager you will lose you $100 within 2-weeks. Realize with your limited experience you may lose that $100 and need to reload. |
