Yes, value bet. I also think you should bet the flop.

Looks like MP whiffed but BB is still in the hand. What does BB cap with Preflop that Ace-high now beats?

Because if you've got the best hand (BB's check means there's a reasonable chance you do), the easiest way to get to showdown is by betting. I think you're probably behind if MP raises you on the flop, but bet-call-call is really a fine flop action for AK here.
