SOAD = System Of A Down Also, I'm a bit surprised none of the indie guys have come in here with Saosin yet. [/ QUOTE ] That's not really indie, is it? I think it's hardcore. ---jason_t from scrub's account. |

wow..thanks gorie! unfortunately the only band on there ive heard of is the strokes. maybe you could specify a few you think i may like based on what i have? [/ QUOTE ] hard to tell. saints and stooges both essential late 70s punk/rocknroll. you might like them. sights are a pretty good detroit band. that describes them enough. sonics = essential 60s garage band. swingin' neckbreakers are great, one of my favorite garage rock'n'roll bands of the late 90s/early 00s. very fun. son house , skip james are good if you like old blues. supercharger is one of my favorite bands ever. mid 90s garage punk. most people probably wouldn't appreciate them. screamin' lord sutch is awesome too, he sings rocknroll about monsters and stuff. i think he was around in the 60s. here are a couple samples: stooges - shake appeal stooges - tv eye the saints - one way street screaming lord sutch - jack the ripper the sights - that ain't right little girl sonics - boss hoss sonics - have love will travel [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] son house - death letter spaceshits - by my side supercharger - sooprize package for mr. mineo supercharger - buzz off (my theme song) swingin' neckbreakers - wait sneaky pinks - i can't wait soledad brothers - shaky puddin' |

Re: Help me build my mp3 collection. Letter S
first off you have good taste.
secondly you need: the sea and cake (three most recent albums: the fawn, oui, and whatever the other one's called) sade (im serious) songs: ohia (especially magnolia electric co) everything by the smiths sprites secret shine (mbv like pop) sebadoh (early stuff only, stop around bakesale) stereolab (everything) style council (yes im a [censored]) steely dan (greatest band ever?) turin brakes dungen bonnie prince billy joanna newsom karen dalton linda perhacs oh wait you said "s" only.. smog! siouxsie and the banshees (mid era stuff is best) maybe ill think of more later but that should get you started. |
