Yes... I've seen Ivey lose sizeable pots before, but not as big as the one for the hand you just posted.
One time he was at a three handed table, in a hand against someone (I don't remember who unfortunately)... flop came down 3 4 5 suits unimportant. Ivey bet, opponent raised, Ivey reraised, opponent went all in, and Ivey called... turn and river cards were bricks I can't remember it's irrelevant. Turns out opponent had 76 where as Ivey had 6x for open end straight draw. Ivey left after that, and opponent kept mumbling wow and how much in awe he was of what had just happened... about a $10K pot if I recall... I swear this is true. |
