I am having a game at my house tomorrow night and I was wondering what you all think a friendly pay out structure would be. There are going to be 24 people and the buy-in is 30+5 for pizza. Any suggestions besides that home poker site. I would prefer suggestions from personal experiences. Thanks in advance.

Here's the DPC payouts currently:
$255 $170 $110 $85 $60 $40 THe thrill of making the money outweighs smaller/larger prize payouts, for most of the players in a home game. |

My suggestion: 45/25/15/10/5 percent. That works out to 324/180/108/72/36, or 320/180/110/70/40 with rounding.

[/ QUOTE ] This may not be related to your question, but don't include the pizza in the buy in. Just sell it to people who want it, that is not only more socially acceptable, it's more legally acceptable too. Unless you are spending $120 on pizza. (According to Domino's everyone would get their own medium pie for that price) |

"Just sell it to people who want it, that is not only more socially acceptable, it's more legally acceptable too."
Are you sure about that legality comparison? Also, does that mean you would charge each person for every snack? Or, as a soda drink, Sam gets everyone to chip in, but Mary as a pizza person is on her own dime? "more socially acceptable" to me means split all of the costs. I don't drink, but I don't complain about beer at poker games that I end up helping to pay for. |
