I'm 5'6".

Bring on those tall guys (I would be a better shooting guard on the poker-player team anyway....I can drain a few 3's here and there with the best of 'em).

I love it, you're on the [censored] party poker million cruise and you STILL ask people who work with party if they employ bots to take all your money.

It was truly unbelieveable.
I know we make fun of the 'party is rigged' posts a lot around here.
But it was something completely different to be stuck in (and overhear) the same conversations over and over again about how 'the flops just aren't the same and it's obvious'.

you would think that players who are qualifying for the freaking thing (so are probably not THAT bad) and obviously play there semi-regularly would be less-prone to this stuff.
90% of the players in the tourney (out of 735) were online qualifiers.
Everywhere you turned there was a conversation about 'changing the cards on you after you cash-out' and 'I'm never playing there again because they clearly rig it for the fish' etc etc etc.

I was stunned at how many of these conversations actually took place (it was daily that I would overhear them at breakfast or something).

While I never saw it happen...I'm absolutely positive that Sexton had to deal with these idiotic comments too.
Gave me a new perspective on why party-support has all those 'form-responses' about how the RNG for the cards is legit.

OK. You can be shooting guard, and I can't believe I forgot about Huck Seed (aka Mumbly Joe) off the bench. Bellande can be that drunk herk in the stands who throws empty whisky bottles at the ref.

I took some pictures of pros while they were getting interviewed. Daniel Negreanu was by far the most polished speaker. When the interviewer asked him whether getting married would affect his game, he gave this smooth answer:

Having a foundation will make me a better player. Now I play more responsibly and I’m more focused. Like Jack Nicholson said in “As Good as It Gets,” my wife makes me want to be a better man. Interview 2005 WSOP

[/ QUOTE ]

The way he said it just makes you want to melt. The other photographer (who was a guy), said it was just a line he has practiced in front of the mirror.

I also enjoyed meeting Clonie Gowen. A lot of guys were hitting on her, I guess they didn't know she was married and HAS TWO KIDS! My friend asked her why she never dated anyone on the tour, and she gave a very honest answer:

[ QUOTE ]
I know poker players are selfish. They want to play poker all the time. Well, I’m just like that, so I don’t want anybody like me. I’m pretty hard to put up with and I’m pretty sure they would be hard to put up with as well, and us together would never mix. That’s why I never dated a poker player. 2005 WSOP interview

[/ QUOTE ]

I also ran into Chris Ferguson right after he busted out of the main event. He was still nice enough to pose for a picture with me though, very nice guy.
