Retarded Rules At Turning Stone
1. the normal time charge for 15/30, their biggest game at the time, is $6. if the game goes 5-handed or less, they start raking $2 every time there's a flop, which is more expensive. so they encourage people to leave when it gets short
2. they won't start a game unless it's full. if they get 7 people trying to start a 20/40 table with 10 unused tables they won't let the game go 3. on friday night there were 15-20 people on the 15/30 waiting list and around the sameon the 5/10 list. they started a 5th 5/10 game instead of a 2nd 15/30 game 4. multiple times they tried to get a 10/20 or 20/40 game going by calling people from the 15/30 game in addition to others on the list, rather than seeing if we wanted to make the 15 game a 20 game. instead they'd rather try and break the game that's running already 5. they wouldn't let me even start a 30/60 or 20/40 list on Friday night because all the tables were occupied 6. you can't straddle, they don't allow time pots, and you can't buy the button 7. the buyins for their regular NL game are $100 max for 1/2 and $300 max for 2/5. I think once a week they ahve an uncapped game 5/10 20 to go game but the rest of the week every game has a short stacked buy in |

Re: Retarded Rules At Turning Stone
This is what happens when you get a casino in the "middle of nowhere" (I lived in Ithaca at Cornell between 00-04), which is the only competition for hours and let's 18 year olds play. Your going to get gay rules and rediculous rakes and no liquor. Only went there once during my years at Cornell, and there was a reason for that.

Re: Retarded Rules At Turning Stone
Wow! Some of those rules sound frustratingly stupid! But I do like the one about banning timepots. Creates more problems than it's worth.

Viejas Indian Casino in SD is 18+ and serves alcohol, the waitresses just card when players order.

Re: Retarded Rules At Turning Stone
nah buying the button is a way to post the blinds when you come in to the left of the button but after the BB...so it goes button, you, SB, BB...
you pay both the SB and BB that hand, and you get to play that hand plus the button instead of having to wait and post the big blind in the CO |
