After several months laguishing with ups and downs without ever finding coinsistency, I have come to a simple conclusion. I must be a closet donk. Screw that, I am a flaming donk! I think my single biggest problem is seeing too many showdowns with marginal (at best) hands. I would appreciate any comments on these stats. I think my VP$IP and VP$IP SB are well in line, I am comfortable with PF aggression, but think I need to be more aggressive in later positions to get the numbers up.
Post flop is where I seem unable to stop the bleeding. The graph shows major ups and down. Further thoughts? I will make at least 200 posts this month. 2. I will grunch 3 hand posts per day minimum. 3. I will again reread SSH. 4. I will minimize my play to improve my fundementals. This forum has been very helpful thus far, but I am not getting the most out of it. I intend to change that beginning right away. Thanks to all for the assistance. |

You can check out my response to your other thread for comments on your stats. As for your goals, grunching and rereading are great. As for 200 posts this month, it would probably behoove you and the rest of the board to keep the ratio of threads started to replies at 10:1, minimum. You almost always learn more from a grunched reply to a hand you're not sure about than from a new post.

That is 200 posts, not 200 new threads. I dislike trying to read the forum with too many new post as much or more than the next guy.

I figured that's what you meant, even in my reply. OTOH, 3 grunches/day = 90, so I was left wondering where the other 110 were coming from.
Good luck with improving your play. Hell, I'll make you a promise. If you ever grunch a post with a response that differs from the general consensus, but you get no adequate explanation for why you should play it differently, drop me a PM with a link to the post. I'll explain it personally, and if I can't, I'll make sure you get a good answer from soneone, some how. |

You probably dont understand the concepts behind post flop play fully. It takes awhile to get down. Understand the why behind making each play.
There is a ton of crap going on postflop that u have to get down. reading hands, reading your opponents tendecies, how to play the flop, turn, river. Implied odds, effective odds...being able to correctly put villian on a range of hands mathmatically (counting combos) and comparing if u are ahead of said ranges or not...then the basics of understand what each hand can do, and being able to play it in a variety of situations, to counting your outs correctly....etc. Its all about getting the concepts down. It takes quite a while to do. |

One last attempt to get the images to work...

Oreogod makes a good point. When you grunch, make sure you post your complete though process and reasoning for each play that you're commenting about. It's quite easy to pick the right play for the wrong reason, in which case you sell yourself short.
Looking at your actual image, your W$SD is pretty crap-tacular, while youre WtSD isn't too bad. Def. grunch posts about river decisions. Also, you almost never steal or defend blinds. Make sure you grunch any post about blind play, steal and defense. Do you ever open limp from MP2 or later? |

I think your vpip from sb is a little high, not to mention how much money you are calling with post flop. I know the microlimit faq says it should be around there, but i feel most ppl fail to realize that they shouldnt always play any 2 suited cards in sb when only 1 or 2 players are in the pot, also are u playing offsuit connectors? MIght wanna ditch anything lower than jto. Also you should start reviewing each session u play afterwards and try and decide for yourself what u shouldve done differently, especially when u can see the hole cards, then ask yourself if you wouldve put them on this kind of hand and hopefully your postflop play will improve. Look for spots where u just called but shoudve raised, and hands where u shouldve folded but called. Basically just go over your play afterwards and analyze each hand, since Tight/Aggressive players dont play many hands anyway this shouldnt take long and it really helps u learn.
Good luck |
