If all goes well, this will be my new place next month:
my building (I am the resident manager):
My soon-to-be apartment: I'm pretty stoked to make the move, as my current unit is a bit of a cube. (it's about 18x20x10), and it doesn't have the sunroom that you can see in the pic. I am renting these units if anyone's intrested... seriously, though, i'll try to hold a home game as soon as i move and get settled. B |

Very nice building. Congrats.
One question... as an apartment owner are you at all worried about the house price to rent ratio being at an all time high? This ratio seems to have risen some 40% in the past 10 years... is this at all a concern to you? cubs |

[/ QUOTE ] If i owned the place i'm sure i'd be worried about a lot of things, but i'm just the manager/handyman/glorified janitor/leasing agent. But that ratio does concern me- greatly. I intend to work for this company for just long enough to thoruoghly learn the business and a few more trades that i'll need, and then I will be buyuing rental properties- I figure if i can own one home by the time i'm thirty (hopefully a cashflow-positive two or three unit rental in a college town like bellingham or olympia) i'll be in good shape. The property prices may become prohibitive if the current trend continues, but I intend to buy a beater and fix it up anyway, so I'll save that way. B |
